The library program is designed not only to provide materials for research, pleasure and fulfillment during the primary years, but also to develop responsible, interested library patrons throughout their lives. Children are introduced to the many aspects of library collections. They are also instructed in the proper care of these materials both in the library and at home. Independence in usage is fostered by teaching children to locate their own materials. Self-satisfaction and enjoyment are encouraged by offering a variety of materials so that children can pursue their own interests.
The use of computers is encouraged in the library both for the development of computer care and skills and learning the techniques of researching through modern technology.
