The 5th grade math curriculum is taught to each child five days a week with the aid of the textbook series, 'Math Advantage'. The following areas of math are taught in 5th grade: whole number computational review (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), place value, estimation, geometry, decimals, fractions, long division, measurement, and statistics and graphing. Problem-solving strategies are used within each area of study. Your child will be using manipulatives and calculators when appropriate, within the classroom. A good knowledge of multiplication and other basic facts is essential.
