Good Morning and Happy March!

1. Love of Reading Week Update

We have had a wonderful week reading books here at The Walnut Ridge School! I hope you have checked out our Instagram page for some great photos and videos. Looks like March is coming in like a lion this year and bringing a lot of snow. Therefore, in the event that we do not have school tomorrow, we will be moving our plans for reading The Cat in the Hat and wearing our favorite hats to Monday, March 5.

2.  Car Seat Event — Tuesday, March 6

By now you should have received a flyer in your child(ren)’s folder regarding our Car Seat Event which is scheduled for Tuesday, March 6. The law frequently changes regarding car seat laws and regulations. In fact, some of the car seats that your children are using may even be outdated, discontinued, or illegal. And the ones that are legal may be installed incorrectly. It is imperative that all parents/grandparents/guardian, and those who transport you child(ren) are aware of updates to car seat regulations to ensure the safety of our children. We are very thankful that NJ Safe Kids will be coming to The Walnut Ridge School to present to parents on Tuesday, March 6 from 12:00pm – 12:45pm. To make it most convenient for parents we will have opportunities for the PreK students to have supervised playtime in their classrooms during this time so that you can attend. Also, we are happy that the VTEA is helping to sponsor this event and will be providing free VTEA flashlights to parents who attend. Please see this flyer (CLICK HERE) for more information and please RSVP ASAP if you plan to attend.

3. We Made the Newspaper!

I am always overjoyed when our students make the newspaper for the positive events we do here at The Walnut Ridge School. Check out this most recent article that appeared a few days ago in the Advertiser!!! CLICK HERE
