Vernon Township School District offers an array of progressive learning opportunities from pre-school through 12th grade. In an effort to introduce cutting edge programs for all our students we have introduced a Robotics curriculum in elementary school, Coding clubs in 5th -12 grade, Genius Hour courses in 7th and 8th grade, and an array of Career and Technical programs in High School. Wedded to our Writers and Readers Workshop programs at the elementary level and Math In Focus through 7th grade our students have a comprehensive lab science program as early as 3rd grade. Our award winning Arts program has been fully integrated into our STEAM initiatives and our music and theater programs support not only great productions but such avante garde offerings as Music Production. From cosmetology labs to graphic design labs, from music production studios to robotics construction rooms the high school offers not only endless opportunities but extremely strong Science and Math Departments to support its Engineering program. Most significantly, as our graduates transition into college they have accumulated enough college credits through concurrent agreements with Syracuse, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Temple and Sussex County Community College to save a year of study at the college level. All of this is available for viewing on our video: “Why Choose Vernon Township School District”
Various conditions for the choice program apply and can be found on the Department of Education website: http://www.state.nj.us/education/choice/, or by visiting the Board of Education Office.
