MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of the foundation is to foster, promote and enhance traditional and innovative approaches for
excellence in education in the Vernon Public Schools, and to encourage community-wide interest and involvement in, and support
of, The Vernon Public Schools.
MEETINGS: Every Third Tuesday of the month the foundation meets in the Lounsberry Hollow Middle School Library at 7:30PM. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. We are always looking for more people from the community to get involved.

GRANTS: Grants are given out once a year. The deadline to submit a Grant request to the foundation is April 1st. Grant money will be awarded by the end of the school year giving recipients time to get their projects underway for the new school year beginning in September. Thus far since its' inception in January 2005 the VEF has awarded over $7,000.00 in grant money.
The following teachers/programs have been awarded money from the VEF.
Walnut Ridge: Story Time Express (Christine Kelshaw), Building Bridges thru Music (MaryJane Dammers), The Write Stuff (Laurie Nelson)
Cedar Mountain: Taking 'Thyme' (Sandra Friedhoff & Andrea Clark), Run for Fun (Leslie Deutch), Exploring Vernon's History (Debbie Zweier)
Rolling Hills: Fishin' for Addition (Suzanne Mayer), Reading Therapy Dogs (Charlotte Ambrose & Cindy Gosda)
Vernon Twp. HS: Lea Haddeland
