Dear Vernon Families,

Some of you may have seen a message on our website posted earlier this week. The purpose of this correspondence is to reiterate that message. We are in the final stages of releasing student schedules. It is the time of year when children are excited to learn of their teachers and classes. Due to the options parents have in Vernon for our reopening this year, it is imperative that you have made your decision by midnight tonight. The original deadline to select the exclusively virtual option (no in-person, live instruction) or the hybrid model (blue/gold teams assigned – children attending school two early dismissal days per week initially) was August 6. We have continued to work with families for the last two weeks. That being said, at this point today is your last opportunity to decide.

6th-12th grade schedules will be released today at 3pm, August 20th and PreK-5th grade schedule will be released August 26th at 3pm.

It is still our goal to work with all families however the selection you have made impacts the crucial balance for all district schedules and for all families (both virtual and hybrid), therefore, after today at midnight there will be no changes honored. If you are still struggling, please click here to access board meetings and podcasts with up to date information. Once school begins, if you have an extreme need or an urgent situation, please contact your child’s Principal who will carefully consider your needs and work with you regarding schedule adjustments.

Just a reminder, school begins for virtual learners and hybrid learners on Tuesday, September 8. We look forward to seeing you then!

Sincerely,

Karen D’Avino

Superintendent of Schools
