The Glen Meadow Middle School nurse will conduct a series of health services for all students throughout the year including height, weight, body mass index, BP screening, vision and hearing screenings. Students in grade 7 will receive a scoliosis screening. Dental screening will be available for all students. At the middle school level, students are checked for head lice only when suspected.
Parents/guardians should be aware of the importance of obtaining a physical examination at least once during each of a child’s developmental stages: early childhood, pre-adolescence, and adolescence.
Glen Meadow Middle School provides both interscholastic and intramural sports activities for our students. Interscholastic sports involve competition with other middle schools often at other schools. Intramural sports take place between Glen Meadow students at our school.
In order for a student to participate, they must present a pre-participation physical exam to the school nurse as per NJ statute and VTSD policy. This exam must have been done within 365 days of the first practice and must be documented on the form provided in the packet. Necessary paperwork is available from the school nurse. Any questions/concerns, contact the school nurse.
