Dear Parents and Students:
As we approach the beginning of the new school year, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of you. For many, it is a greeting extended to old friends; to others, it is an introduction and an invitation. To all, it constitutes a pledge of continued efforts to provide the best possible education for our youngsters.
Our school’s reputation and success rest, in large measure, on parental concern and involvement. The school theme for the 2017-18 school year at Lounsberry Hollow will be “Every Student Matters; Every Moment Counts!” Students are the heart of our school where every student is celebrated and valued as part of our learning community. Every moment counts reflects the urgency of our task of ensuring that ALL students are successfully prepared for their future.
Lounsberry Hollow can take humble pride in its highly qualified and dedicated faculty and staff! These professional educators welcome your concern, and they view education as a partnership between home and school.
Please note, special thanks to the efforts of the LH School Community Association (SCA), we will be holding open houses at Lounsberry on Thursday, August 31st from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm and on Friday, September 1st from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm noon. Students and parents are most welcome to come and visit at any time during the above times on either day, if your schedule permits, to tour the school and get a “feel” for your new and exciting surroundings.
Friday, September 8th is the first day of school for students. At LH, this will be a “soft opening” for all students in Grades 4 and 5. Students will be provided with an opportunity to meet their teachers, be treated to an “Art of Inspiration” student assembly, get acclimated to their locker assignment, as well as be provided with a complementary Lounsberry’s “Lunch Launch 2017.” Listed below is the menu we will be providing students free of charge on opening day:

- “Top your own Deli”: Italian; Turkey; and Buffalo Chicken Subs
- Crispy Chicken Caesar Salad
- Deli Bento Box (Turkey; Cheese Cubes; Celery Sticks; Apple Slices; Goldfish)

We look forward to building and maintaining a tradition at Lounsberry Hollow of students being committed to the proposition that the privilege of coming to school carries with it the obligations to do the best they can. These are important years, and it is rewarding to work with young people who see a challenge in their potential- to become the best they can.
