Good Afternoon Walnut Ridge Families,

Here are some updates for the month of May!

I. Popcorn Fundraiser

By now you should have received information on the newest fundraiser for WRAP — Gourmet Popcorn! I am so excited about this fundraiser because this popcorn look DELICIOUS! If you have lost your form CLICK HERE and CLICK HERE. Orders are due to school by May 15th and there is no online ordering. Happy selling and thank you for supporting our school!!!

II. Protocols for Picking Up Children

We have all been there…You get held up at work or stuck in traffic and can’t get here on time to pick your child up and so you ask another mom/dad/grandma/friend etc. to pick up your child from school. As a father of two children, I understand. But please note that without written documentation from you, the parent, I cannot allow children from our school to go home with someone other than their guardian. If you run into a situation like this, please take a moment to send an email to Ms. DiCarlo at jdicarlo@vtsd.com so that we can have keep proper documentation and ensure the safety of all our children. Thank you!

III. Moving Up Details

As you know, our Moving Up Ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday June 4. We will be having a morning ceremony and an afternoon ceremony and we are planning on hosting it in the backyard black top of our school. In your folders today you received a letter from me indicating that if it rains we, unfortunately, will need to hold the ceremony in doors. As a result, we have sent rain tickets home in your child’s folder. (4 for each child). Please hold on to these in case we need to utilize the “rain plan.” Thanks!
