Hello Walnut Ridge Family!
Here are some updates of things going on here in our school!
1) Library has Begun
It is hard to believe, but our school district is now in the 4th and final Marking Period of the school year. And that means that in our school, our students will be attending Library taught by Ms. Lethbridge each Monday. We are thrilled to have Ms. Lethbridge with us and we know that the students will have a great experience. Be on the lookout for some library books coming home in your child(ren)’s backpack and don’t forget to ask them “What did you learn in Library?” when they come home every Monday until the end of June.
2) Pinwheel Project
If you pick up or drop off your child at school (or if you pass by Walnut Ridge during the day) then you have probably noticed the Pinwheel Garden near our flagpole. This pinwheel garden was installed by the Vernon Women’s Club to help raise awareness for child abuse prevention. Be on the look out for other pinwheel gardens throughout Vernon.
3) Parent Teacher Conferences
Thank you very much for attending Parent Teacher Conferences! We had many, many, many families attend and I really enjoyed the opportunity to speak with several of you while you picked out books at our Scholastic Book Fair. Looking forward to seeing you all back for our next Book Fair and Parent Teacher Conference in the fall.
4) Save the Date
If you did not receive a “Save the Date” card in your child(ren)’s folder, here are the dates so that you have them at your fingertips.
