Hello!  It is hard to believe that summer is half way over and we are already into August.  The other day while I was reading (yes, please share with your children that their new principal loves to read!) I came across an article written by Addie Gaines, an Elementary Principal in Missouri.  Her article “ABCs of Student Success” stresses the important role parents/guardians play in the accomplishments of their child.  Each letter of the alphabet emphasizes an important theme that you can discuss with your child. I will begin with the letter A this week, which represents attendance

It is so important to get your child into a regular routine of coming to school at a young age.  Every day they miss they have to “catch up” to what the other students have already learned.  Remember we are here to assist you if your child is hesitant about coming to school. Also, just a reminder our two Open Houses will be held on Wednesday August 28th and Thursday August 29th.  The school will be open from 10:00 – 12:00 on both days for students to become familiar with the building. Enjoy the rest of your summer and remember 15 minutes of read aloud time a day with your child improves listening and reading skills and increases their comprehension!  See you soon!
