Rolling Hills Principal’s Blog

November, 2018

It’s hard to believe that we are moving into November and the close of the first marking period.  As daylight savings time ends, we are quickly reminded of the changes coming our way. Temperatures are starting to dip, and we will soon be greeted with the first hard frost of the autumn. As most trees are losing their leaves, we are beginning to realize that the winter season will soon be upon us. That being said, I would like to remind everyone of the importance of maintaining up-to-date contact information in our Genesis Parent Portal. This system will be the main source of information regarding early dismissals, delayed openings, and school closings during the school year.

Please keep in mind that school will be closed on Thursday and Friday,  November 8th and 9th for the NJEA Convention.

Our Book Fair will be held the week of November 12th through the 16th,  and we will once again be welcoming Grandparents and Parents/Guardians from 9:30 – 11:00 am on both November 14th and 15th. This year all visitors must register in the main office prior to entering the building.  As such, we are encouraging anyone attending to stop in any day prior to register (driver’s license) to help alleviate lines on the visitation day.  I would also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that Wednesday, November 21st will be an early dismissal day with students being dismissed at approximately 1:10 pm for the Thanksgiving holiday (schools closed November 22nd and 23rd).
