March 2020
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As the first few days and weeks of the spring season are soon upon us, I am hopeful this communication finds you and your children well and looking forward to some warmer weather in upcoming months.
As you may already know, at Lounsberry Hollow School, we employ a Positive Behavior Support in Schools (PBSIS) behavior system. This behavior system is intended to improve the overall school climate of our school. Further, this system encourages positive behavioral interventions to discourage disruptive behavior.
As part of PBSIS at LH, Captain’s Awards are given to students who consistently demonstrate respect, responsibility and kindness and who are “on board” with school-wide expectations. Teachers may nominate students at their discretion and sometimes may choose students who have made a significant effort to improve their behavior or academic achievement as well.
To date, since the beginning of the school year in September, 112 LH students have been nominated for and received Captain’s Award Certificates for being “on board with respect and responsibility.”
Congratulations to the following (please see below) 2020 LH Captains Awards winners to date.
Best wishes to all of you for a rewarding month of March!
Sincerely,
Dennis J. Mudrick
