Please be reminded that PARCC testing will begin for all 3rd and 4th Grade students on Wednesday, May 3rd. The test is designed to measure student achievement in English Language Arts/Literacy (ELA) and Mathematics (M) based on the learning standards contained in the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). The first three days of testing will involve ELA and will be followed by four days for Math. The State designates that the ELA sections are approximately 60 – 90 minutes long and the Math sections are 60 minutes; however it has been our experience that students finish much sooner.

Make-Up Testing |
Please help your child by making sure that he/she gets plenty of rest on the nights before testing and has nutritious breakfast on testing days. Most important, we want your child to come to school with a positive attitude in regards to the testing. Testing sessions will begin promptly at 9:15 a.m. and continue for two hours. The afternoon session will begin after regularly scheduled lunches. Students who arrive after testing has begun will not be able to participate in testing that day. Absences and early pick-ups should be limited as much as possible.
Please note: Although there will be am and pm test sessions, your child will only test in one session per day.
Sincerely,
Dr. Stewart Stumper
Principal
