Vernon Township High School

Grades 9 through 12
Vernon Township High School builds on the skills acquired at the primary school levels by emphasizing higher-level thinking skills and career-related programs. The curriculum is the heart of the school, designed to serve a large number of students’ needs. Electives afford students the opportunity to explore interests in many areas, including visual and performing arts, world languages, business, family and consumer sciences, and industrial arts and technology. About 76% of our graduates pursue education beyond high school at four-year institutions. Students may enroll at Sussex County Technical High School or participate in the “shared time” program. Our substance abuse program focuses on prevention, intervention, aftercare, and improved quality of life for all students. Since a traditional high school program does not meet the needs of all students, Project Plus was created to offer students an alternative, flexible approach to academics. We strive for an air of dignity and mutual respect for all students.
The extracurricular programs offer a complete range of interscholastic activities for boys and girls of all grade levels. The art, music, and theater programs are consistently noted for their extraordinary efforts. There is an active chapter of the National Honor Society as well as honor societies in art, world languages, music, and theater. Project Quest and Peer Support are designed to assist students in developing positive self-esteem. We offer students a wide variety of learning experiences:
- Academics
- Clubs
- Sports
- Careers
