Board Goals 2025-2026
Student Achievement / Well Being |
---|
By June 2026, the Board will advance its commitment to student achievement and wellbeing by prioritizing oversight of efforts that promote academic growth, inclusive learning environments, and student health. Through its committee structures, the Board will regularly review progress in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and student support systems, and will collaborate with the Superintendent to ensure district priorities reflect a whole-child approach. |
Communication |
---|
By June 2026, the Board will strengthen communication with the public by ensuring consistent community updates and improved social media presence, in coordination with the district. The Community Relations will set communication goals, monitor progress, and provide regular updates at Board meetings to ensure that parents and community members are well-informed about district programs, offerings, and priorities. |
Strategic Plan |
---|
Following the adoption of Board and District Goals in October 2025, the Board will lead the launch of a collaborative strategic planning process by authorizing a timeline, ensuring opportunities for community input, and adopting a final Strategic Plan by June 2026 that reflects shared district and Board priorities. |
Finance & Facilities |
---|
By the conclusion of the 2025–2026 budget development cycle, the Board will engage in proactive fiscal and facilities planning by working through the Finance and Buildings & Grounds Committee to assess long-term capital needs, ensure alignment with educational priorities, and explore options (including the potential need for a future referendum) to address major facilities improvements. |
Governance & Policy |
---|
By June 2026, the Board of Education will strengthen its governance effectiveness by becoming a Certified Board, establishing a mentorship and onboarding program for new members, and participating in a Board retreat and collaborative training sessions with the Superintendent. The Board will implement structures to assess the impact of new practices throughout the year, fostering continuous growth and alignment with best practices in board leadership. |
