Vernon Township Public Schools invites parents, families, and members of the Vernon community to attend State of the District 2026: The Strategic Plan in Action on Wednesday, October 14, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Vernon Township High School.
This year’s State of the District will offer an engaging, interactive opportunity for the community to see how the district’s 2026–2031 Strategic Plan is taking shape across its schools, classrooms, programs, student supports, and facilities.
Rather than a traditional presentation alone, the evening will feature a brief districtwide welcome followed by an interactive Strategic Plan Fair. Students, educators, and district administrators will share examples of current practices, learning experiences, district initiatives, and priorities that help shape the educational experience of Vernon students.
Through interactive stations and student demonstrations, attendees will have opportunities to learn more about the work taking place across the district, connect with educators, ask questions, and explore how the district’s priorities support student growth and future opportunities.
The evening will highlight the district’s five strategic goals:
Coherent, High-Quality Learning Pathways PreK–12:
Supporting a connected learning experience as students progress through the district.
Academic Strength, Rigor, and Responsive Support:
Promoting strong instruction, meaningful learning opportunities, and support that responds to student needs.
Safe, Supportive, Inclusive Culture:
Fostering school environments where students feel a sense of belonging, connection, and support.
Communication and Community Partnership:
Strengthening relationships among schools, families, students, and the broader Vernon community.
Facilities Stewardship and Long-Range Planning:
Planning responsibly for the learning environments and resources that serve students and staff.
Student voice will be an important part of the evening, giving students opportunities to help tell the story of their schools and share how learning, programs, and support systems connect to the district’s broader vision.
State of the District 2026 is also an opportunity for families and community members to learn more about the direction of Vernon Township Public Schools, celebrate the work happening throughout the district, and better understand how the Strategic Plan guides continued progress and future planning.
All parents, families, and members of the Vernon community are encouraged to attend and take part in this opportunity to connect with the schools and people who make up the Vernon community.
