September 2025

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for entrusting us with the education and well-being of your child/children. Together, we will provide them with the best possible experience, from the first day of school to their last, making our school a place of inspiration and excellence. Wishing everyone a fantastic and successful school year ahead!

As your child enters a new school year, or perhaps this is their first year, encouraging words matter! whether you say them daily, or when you think they need to hear them, or by slipping a note in their lunchbox…

Believe in yourself:
Remind students that they are capable of achieving great things and that their potential is limitless.

You can do anything you put your mind to:
This emphasizes the power of focus and determination in achieving goals.

What you think matters:
Highlight the importance of positive self-talk and believing in their abilities.

You have a kind soul:
Encourage students to be kind and compassionate towards others, fostering a positive classroom environment.

Be the friend you have always wanted:
This promotes empathy and encourages students to build strong relationships.

Make good choices:
Reinforce the importance of making thoughtful decisions that align with their goals and values.

Ask questions:
Encourage students to be curious and not be afraid to seek clarification when they need it.

Learn from your mistakes:
Remind students that setbacks are a natural part of the learning process and that they can grow from them.

Be kind to yourself:
Encourage self-compassion and remind students that it's okay to make mistakes.

Focus on progress, not perfection:
Celebrate small victories and encourage continuous improvement rather than striving for unattainable perfection.

You are not alone:
Let students know that they have a support system of teachers, classmates, and family members.

You are important to all who follow you:
Inspire students to be role models and positive influences on others.

Good luck and Godspeed:
Offer a heartfelt wish for a successful and fulfilling school year!

Sincerely,

Kristin Gudenkauf
