March is a time of transition and offers a wonderful opportunity to focus on two important priorities at Cedar Mountain: strengthening literacy skills and fostering positive character. Our hallways are filled with students enjoying reading and also experiencing the warmth of our school community.
We began the month celebrating Read Across America, but our dedication to literacy continues every day. At Cedar Mountain, reading is more than an academic skill. It’s a way for students to discover new ideas, explore different perspectives, and better understand the world around them. Every time a child picks up a book, they are building essential reading skills and expanding their thinking and imagination.
Alongside academic growth, we are committed to nurturing kindness. This month, we are emphasizing meaningful acts that strengthen our school community. Simple gestures like helping a classmate, offering a word of encouragement, or including someone in a conversation create a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued. These everyday moments remind us that while academic success is important, the impact of kindness has a lasting impression.
