Reading

Happy Spring! As the grass begins to green and the days become a little longer, our students are working hard to finish the school year strong. However, in our fast-paced, digital world, it is equally important to pause and focus on what matters most for a child’s development and overall well-being.

Sometimes the most meaningful moments are also the simplest. This month, I want to encourage our families to embrace three low-tech, high-connection ways to bond with your children:

  • Read Together: Take time to read to or with your child. Whether you’re reading aloud or taking turns with a favorite book, these shared moments build a lasting bridge between you and your child.

  • Play Together: Bring out board games. Beyond the fun, games teach essential life skills like patience, turn-taking, and critical thinking.

  • Explore Together: After a long winter, children benefit from time outdoors to refresh and recharge.  Encourage them to head outside to play, kick a soccer ball, ride their bikes, or simply enjoy a family walk.

Family schedules can get busy fast, but spending meaningful time together doesn’t have to be expensive or take all day.  It can be as simple as fifteen minutes of your undivided attention. When we put our phones away and really listen and connect, we help our children feel safe, supported, and ready to succeed at school and with their friends.

Let’s make this April a month of meaningful memories together!
