October 10 is Fire Prevention Day so we will have our VTFD here with their truck to meet with students as well.
We are seeing more students communicating with friends and families via their smart watches during the day. We have added this to our morning announcements, but please remind your children they should not be on their phones or watches during the day. If you need to get in touch with them, or if they need you, we can take care of that in the main office. Thanks for your help and support with this.
Our lost and found is quickly filling up. We have plenty of nice jackets and sweatshirts that have been left behind. Please ask your children to take a look when they go to PE and/or recess. Parents are welcome to come back after school and look through the pile of clothes as well.
If you are dropping your child off in the morning, please make sure to go all the way to the left at the top of the hill. We are seeing cars come down through the middle lanes. It is making the drop off a little hectic.
Mark Your Calendars! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Lounsberry from October 24 to October 31! Students will visit the Book Fair with their Language Arts teachers during the week. Set up your child’s Scholastic eWallet—a safe and convenient way for students to shop without bringing money to school.
Want a sneak peek? Explore the Book Fair virtually to browse cases filled with this year’s must-have titles and watch the latest book trailers to get excited about what’s coming! Don’t miss this chance to stock up on great books and support our school library!
Our SCA is hosting our annual Halloween Activity Night with the Haunted Hallway on October 24th Our times this year will be slightly different. Our fourth grade event will take place from 5:15 - 6:45 and the fifth graders will participate from 7:00 - 8:30. Use this link to sign up and pay. For more information click here.
Project Self-Sufficiency will be offering a 24:7 Dads Parenting Course on Tuesdays and Thursday, beginning October 7th. The course will be free and offered in-person or via Zoom. Childcare will be available to in-person attendees and participants could even receive a gift card. Click here for more information.
If you are picking up your child at the end of the day, please call early or enter it in Genesis early. This will help us make sure that we have your child ready for you when you arrive. When leaving with your child, please use the walkway, we cannot have parents and students walking between the buses as they are pulling in. If you were at pickups, you know how busy that gets; I want to make sure everyone gets home safely.
Please make sure that your children come to school with their chromebooks charged.
Teachers will be using Schoology again this year. Please take a look at this short video that provides directions on how to access Schoology.
