There are students who are vandalizing our bathrooms by writing on the walls and intentionally overflowing the toilets. We have let the students know that anyone who is found to be intentionally damaging our building will face consequences. Thanks for your help and support with this.
There is no school for students on Monday, October 13 - Teacher In-Service Day.
Monday starts the “Mind Traveler’s Library Fun Reading Incentive.” From October 13th to November 21st, the students’ goal is to read six books. Fifth graders, make sure two are chapter books! They can read books from home, our library, or the public library. Parents, please initial the form (they went home on Wednesday) after each book, then return it to Mrs. Weinreb by November 25th. Everyone who finishes will be entered into a book prize drawing in December! So grab a book and start reading today!
Our students will be taking the Adaptative NJSLA Field Test on October 27, 28, and 29. It will be done within the confines of the school day. Students will need charged chromebooks and earbuds. As more information becomes available, I will pass it along. You can use this link to access the NJDOE Students and Families Assessment Page.

We are seeing more students communicating with friends and families via their smart watches during the day. We have added this to our morning announcements, but please remind your children they should not be on their phones or watches during the day. If you need to get in touch with them, or if they need you, we can take care of that in the main office. Thanks for your help and support with this.
Our lost and found is quickly filling up. We have plenty of nice jackets and sweatshirts that have been left behind. Please ask your children to take a look when they go to PE and/or recess. Parents are welcome to come back after school and look through the pile of clothes as well.
If you are dropping your child off in the morning, please make sure to go all the way to the left at the top of the hill. We are seeing cars come down through the middle lanes. It is making the drop off a little hectic.
LH SCA Meeting - Tuesday, October 14th at 9:45am.
