Dear Walnut Ridge Families,
Thank you for reviewing the blog for upcoming events, updates, photos, and reminders that are posted here each month. This is our June and Summer edition. Please check back periodically for updates as I will add to this blog throughout the summer.

July: Preschool Playground Meet-Ups: Tuesdays at 5:30PM and Thursdays at 9:00AM
August 21: Cedar Mountain Open House 10:00am - 12:00pm
August 26: Walnut Ridge Open House for 2025-26 students & families ~ 10:00am-12:00pm
August 27: Walnut Ridge Open House for 2025-26 students & families ~ 1:00pm-3:00pm
September 2: Back to School Night (times TBD--but sometime 4:00pm and after)
September 4: FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!

Preschool Events and Happenings:
June was a busy, exciting, and fun month at Walnut Ridge. Here are are some pics of some of the fun things we did this month:
Mrs. Cafferata’s class teamed up with Mrs. Shenise’s high school English class. High school students wrote children’s stories and read them via zoom to Mrs. Cafferata’s preschoolers!
The Lokai Rose wildlife education program introduced us to some interesting creatures and how to treat all creatures with kindness. Students loved meeting the Margarita the tarantula, Barbie the python, and Jimmy the millipede.
During a break from the Spring rain, we had two sessions of Fun Day!!
Walnut Ridge celebrated it’s first full-day preschool Moving Up Day on June 11th. We wish all of our rising kindergarten students to keep having fun learning at Cedar Mountain and beyond!
Classes teamed up to host active and fun Father’s Day Events. It was so nice to see our front field full of life again!
During our last week of school, Kira Willey and Friends performed a Rockin’ Yoga Concert! Students and staff alike had a blast singing and dancing--and being silly and then back to calm. Who knew practicing self regulation skills could be so much fun!

Maschio's Food Allergy Management Program
Thinking ahead to September…If your child has any food allergies, it is important to let both your teacher and school nurse know. In addition, please review the link below for information from Maschio's Food Service regarding protective measures for students with life-threatening food allergies, Celiac disease, dysphagia, diabetes, or other medical conditions.
