Hello VTSD Preschool Families,
I hope you are having a wonderful summer! We have been busy getting ready for September--and I wanted to share important dates and information with you.

Thank you to all who have participated in the July Preschool Playground Meet-Ups.
The preschool playground is the one located next to the building. It has shade and benches as well. We will be putting in a new playground behind the school in September. More details to follow.
All three preschool sites will be having Open Houses. Please consider attending the one for the school your child will attend in September. Students attending Discovery Years or Growing and Knowing will receive specific details from their respective schools as well. An open house is great time for students and families to see their child’s classroom and become familiar with their school before the first day. If your child is taking the bus to Walnut Ridge, Discovery Years, or Growing and Knowing, there will be bus orientation during the Walnut Ridge Open House. Students will have a chance to ride the bus and practice using the seatbelts. This is also the one time that parents can join their child on the bus as well!
DISCOVERY YEARS OPEN HOUSE:
AUGUST 9, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
GROWING AND KNOWING ACADEMY OPEN HOUSE: AUGUST 26, 5:30PM - 6:30PM
Other important dates:
On or around August 18th: Genesis opens and parents can see their child’s teacher and busing information. You will get an email letting you know.
August 28: DISCOVERY YEARS Back to School Night at 5:30pm - 6:30pm
September 2: Walnut Ridge: Back to School Night at 4:00pm or 5:00pm
**There will be two sessions based on your child’s teacher. That information will be announced during the week of August 18th as well.
September 4: First day of school for all students
Walnut Ridge Hours: 9:25-3:25
Discovery Years Hours: 9:30-3:30
Growing and Knowing Hours: 9:30-3:30
GROWING AND KNOWING BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT WILL BE ANNOUNCED SHORTLY.
